Hi

I have just payed for Unotelly at $4.95 per month. What I wanted to find out is how do they know who is using the unotelly dns servers, as all I have done is put the unotelly dns servers into my adsl router. What stops anybody from adding these servers into their router?

I could understand if you had to use a username and password on the router but am a bit confused?

you have to enable your ip on the unotelly site, if your IP changes you need to log in and update it. At least it worked like that for me.

That's how it works then! Is that not going to be a pain if you have a dynamic adsl account which could change your ip quite often. Do they not have an update client you could run on your pc that would update the ip automatically when your ip changes?

Sorry found the answer myself on the unotelly website, they have 3 ways to do this automatically, task scheduler, batch file updater, unotelly helper.

Helps to read a bit

There are a few ways to update it, my IP hardly ever changed so never worried bout it.

If your IP changes, and say you load up Netflix.com in your browser, it automatically redirects you to Unotelly's website to update your IP. It's pretty clever.
If you're like me and use Netflix, etc on a device through an App. If you see if doesn't connect or there are issues. Open browser, and go to unotelly's site. It'll instantly tell you at the very top if there are issues.

You have to activate the service for your IP Address. So theoretically if you change it on your router, all the devices in your house should be able to access the service.

UnoTelly is so awesome, been playing around with it all day, and it works so well. Much better than any other service i have ever used. Super Easy, and is definitely, worth it.

Meh. Don't like the fact that you have to update your ip. Thanks for the info.
