Hi guys!
I couldn't find any threads relating to those who create games and other things in the Unreal Engine, so I'm being the change that I want to see in the world.

At the moment I'm still learning some of the "coding" mechanics to learn how to do this:

That walthrough looks great. I am looking forward to seeing their new real-time raytracing feature in games (and architectural demos).

Haha. I'm just trying to catch up with the current stuff. Managed to get the hang of basic interactions like opening doors last night. So I haven't even looked at their new real-time raytracing. Where did you see it?

<3 <3 <3 That is going to be epic!! I need to get more involved in that! Reflections is such a **** to work with when you're doing real-time rendering.

I make maps for Killing Floor 2 but that uses Unreal 3 not 4.

Very nice! How did you get started doing that? I've always wanted to create content for games, but never really did it.

It was the games fault for being so damn good and the devs fault for providing the sdk so that the community can start developing :D
I am a dev so there wasnt really any learning curve, just had to familirise myself with the games hierachy.

Very nice! I'd love to do that with Ark, but that SDK is 150GB.
And Dota just looked way too complicated.

That's far more than I've ever done! Haha. I've made so many incomplete models.. and then just never really do much with it.
Perhaps I should make gun packs for Unreal? Have you tried posting some of your work to the various 3D Markets?

Unfinished Gun...

Would love to learn Unreal for Archviz. Currently using Lumion and it is damn expensive. Unreal also looks SO MUCH better.
Oooh, you should see the new stuff. Unreal is leaning heavily into ArchViz. But I'd love having a fellow Arch Viz buddy. :) Have you started with Unreal yet?

No not yet. Do you maybe have advise where to start for someone with no experience in Unreal? I will start ASAP.

Yup. I can help you with getting started. What 3D Programs are you familiar with? I'm using Blender and Substance Painter, then just exporting it to Unreal.

My current setup is ArchiCAD > Sketchup > Lumion. I have very short turn around time for projects. I know the basics of Blender, just don't use it much as it take more time.

Well then I'll teach you how to work Unreal Engine, and you can teach me how to work faster. :)
I keep forgetting that sketchup is fantastic for drawing architecture.

foozball3000, what are you interested in BTW? Modelling, level design, coding/game-logic, graphics coding?

Graphics coding would be awesome, but I know nothing about that, so it's extremely daunting looking from the outside in.
But for now it's coding / game-logic

Thanks foozball. Sounds like a deal. I've got your message! Will reply soon, just a bit drowned in work, freelance and Unisa assignments. I will give you a shout in the next week or two. Will download and install everything in the mean time.

Sketchup is really great, of course it lacks the features of high poly modeling, but it is nice to clean up a model and quickly add some props and then send to Lumion. I usually need to give something to a client with in a day or two. But I would LOVE to do VR walk throughs and renderings with Unreal.
