Hi there, i'm helping out a friend in CT from Aus. His internet connection has been very unreliable since he moved into his house and he keeps banging on about it and i said i'd have a look. He is computer illiterate...
I've gathered the router stats and exchange info and from my understanding an SNR 5.1 (see below) is not good at all?!
He is with Afrihost and his line is managed by Telkom. Can anyone shed any light on what steps he should take to resolve this? Should he take it up with Telkom, but what would you expect them to do? Could i request Afrihost load a "slow" profile on his connection?
I've asked him to perform an isolation test and we'll see if there is any change over the next couple of days.
He is only 1km from his local exchange.
