Unshaped ADSL

Hi all

A quik question for thos using unshaped ADSL

At the moment I have 384 UNshaped adsl. A 2gig account through Axess.

Im on Tarren Mill an eu server. My latency is as follows.

In IF: 400 - 600 ms

In the big wide world : 380 - 500ms. Most of the time around 400ms

If i go for 512 or 1meg line would this improve my latency? I know already that my latency is pretty good but still. Always room for improvement

Also if it did not improve latency would a faster line be better anyway when im playing and other people in the house are browsing or downloading from the net so that my latency does not get affected?

Iam running WebAfrica PrePaid unshaped. on a 512k line.
on a good day i can get a latency of 250ms

And for downloading .... that will always suck max out of the line .... so best is to get a download maneger that you can thruttle the download rate

other wise i can get upto 2000ms latency if i do full speed downloads on the unshapped account

The short answer is it doesn't seem like it. I have the same account from axxess as you with a 1Gb line but I am getting much of the same levels of latency perhaps slightly better but not worth the Rand cost it would seem!

1gb unshaped is like R125
