I know ICASA's regulations state Telkom shouldn't be offering shaped lines and only unshaped lines.

Do you think that when Telkom finally adhere to these regulations iburst will also be offering unshaped connections, since they go through Telkom or am I just dreaming here?

Will never happen ... the shaping (from what I can tell) is happening on the radio network, and not on the Telkom network.

In any case, Telkom has cut their prices a couple of times, and iBurst is still screwing us over

You meant to say they still shape your wallet... :p :D

There was a time when they were the cheapest... but not anymore.

Yeah well, after the shocking speeds over the weekend, I have two options:

1. Go for a 4mb ADSL line
2. Go with a Vodacom package and one of those Wireless 3G routers

That's an easy choice.

Especially if you're going to be routing the connection to a few PC's..

Not really ... do I want to deal with Telkom (I already have an ISDN connection with them), and I am not too sure about the whole DSL setup over Fibre, ie, stability etc.
