Ok I'm really getting... unhappy now. A while back unshaped latencies went haywire on SAIX and it seems to have gotten better for some people and stayed the same or gotten worse for others. I personally use WebAfrica unshaped, live in the Cape Town, Constantia area and my World of Warcraft latency has been terrible since early this year. Others using WebAfrica are experiencing normal latency, ranging in the 300-400ms realm.

Could this be locational now? Perhaps the lines around my area are in need of a service and this just happened to coincide with the SAIX spikes earlier this year?

I would really appreciate if all unshaped users could reply with how well their connection is running, their average latency, location and any other information.

This has gone on for months now and I really want to get to the bottom of it

Have you tried logging on to Verison instead via your webafrica account?

I'm getting the same problem.

Used to get 350ms and max 450ms, now on average I get 550ms.

I'm using Axxess.

I don't have World Of Warcraft, but I do have Guild Wars. I get average 350ms on my unshaped. Drops to 230ms sometimes.

I live in Kimberley.
Web Africa Prepaid.

Same nonsense as you.

Live in CPT Claremont area, using Imaginet unshaped. Used to get 400-550ms in WoW, these days it's anywhere from 650-900ms. I'm testing the IT24 VPN for a month - currently it's giving roundabout the same pings. If it stays good, I'm canceling the unshaped account - not worth paying for the rubbish it currently is.

o well isp's has gone silent only important thing it seems is our debit/money....

I also get around 500-600ms mostly during the weekdays in the evening, and weekends in the morning I sometimes get as low as 300ms. I suspect they might be prioritizing some http traffic higher even on the unshaped connections, and the other software is left to compete for the bandwidth that is left. I also noticed that if anyone browses on the same connection, you get higher pings.

... wouldn't be surprised
