unshaping a line via a US server

Hi everyone,

we have about 100GB free monthly on our server, I wanted to know if anybody would be willing to part with information on how/what to setup in order to use the server as a unshaping proxy?

basically you want stuff from p2p etc to come here via http etc. A personal torrentflux system is always a good bet. If you have enough access you can even remotely link to the server and run it like a desktop from here. Download everything you want onto the machine there and share it via HTTP or FTP to South Africa. There are other more involved methods for multiple users like the torrentflux option.

If you are a single user, running it like a desktop is much more fun.

Yup, keeping in mind that your server connection is prob. 10Mbps or 100Mpbs, you can get extra large files in minutes, I have two dedicated in the US with 1000 Gigs each per month, got them very cheap (not the best hardware though, have to reboot the one every 3 days but they're good enough for what I use them).

Basically if you're running Windows on the server connect using remote desktop, or VNC (if you have VNC server running on the box), and you can use it as your PC at home. Keep in mind that many servers in the US shape their p2p traffic too (if you get slow speeds talk to support and see if this is the case).

thxs dor replies guys, I'm not doing any torrents (but thanks for suggestion). I want to play some WoW and need to know how to setup the routing.

And i have full root access to the ded server.

set up a ssh server on it, and then when you connect to it set port forward to the particular address(wow address). maybe? easiest way i can think of.

if u need help with openvpn, i can help u.... also, setting up squid on an unshaped port might help u.
