Unshelled walnuts in Cape Town?

Anyone know where in Cape Town I can get unshelled walnuts? I asked in a random thread a year or two ago and someone said there was a walnut tree in Paarl...so I actually headed out that way with my parents and we stopped at every tree that looked remotely like a walnut tree with no luck. They still tease me about that mission :). If anyone has a tree I'd be happy to buy some from you. If anyone can point me to a publicly accessible tree - sweet. If you know of any stores that sell - that's also cool though a lot of times the nuts have been lying there for some time but I guess if that's my only option I'll try them.

Fwiw I have tried Komati fodos in obs - they only sell them a few times a year in mixed bags and can't sell just the walnuts.

a trivial pursuit !

the reason you can only find shelled walnuts is that rolls royce gobbles everything up for dashboards.
obviously, they do not use the nut itself, which is why we only get shelled walnuts.

That's it - I'm boycotting Rolls Royce, psh :p. I only got about 8 walnuts in the mixed bag and they're so damn delicious compared to the already shelled 18 months ago oils-gone-rancid walnuts. Freshly shelled, dipped in honey...hmmm.

Silly. Of course you can get walnuts with shells, just not in SA. They're plentiful all over Europe. Just as one can get chestnuts and other "exotic" things we in SA can only dream about.
 
^^^Thanks...no luck with them or their referral either. Eish. Gonna hunt google earth for walnut trees.
