unstable ADSL

YE ADSL IS FAST AND CONVENIENT WHEN WORKING AS SUPPOSED TO DO, BUT I EXPERIENCE THAT 3 TIMES A WEEK I NEED TO RESET THE ROUTER, TO RE-ESTABLISH CONNECTION WITH THE EXCHANGE.
OTHER THAN THIS SOMETIMES THE LINK IS DOWN ( TWICE A WEEK ) FOR BASICALLY THE WHOLE EVENING NORMALLY FROM SEVEN??. THIS IS A LITTLE MYSTERIOUS TO ME, DO THEY WORK ON THEIR SYSTEM SO OFTEN AND SWITCH IT OFF IN THE EVENINGS???
 
Have your cable checked by Telkom engineers. I had the same problems. After hours of arguing an engineer with the proper equipment finally came out and noticed that the problem only shows when they disconnect the cable pair at the exchange. They do work on the service now and again. However, the number of problems you experience sounds like a connection problem.

Which exchange are you in? I had same prob but it appears it was only in one exchange.
