I have a Billion 800VGT modem/router suplying ADSL (4 Meg line) to two laptops.
Download speeds to both computers vary.
If I reboot the Modem and the Laptop the download speed gets up to 3.4 Meg.
Minutes later it drops to .3 - .5 Meg.
Please help. Will resetting the modem help?

Dude I had similar issues. My line was unstable with that router. Throw it away as it is a piece of garbage. My line was unstable and didn't synced until I decided to go for another router. Even another Bilion 800vgt wasn't working. I went for a D-link router and now my line is even faster than before.

Trust me I had this problem before with IS. they gave us ta billion 800vgt, same thing the line was going on and off until they swapped it out with a Cisco router. Recently same problem but with Mweb uncapped account and also Billion 800VGT so I decided to try out another router and Walla fixed and my line attenuation is even better.

hey freedom123

what you can try is doing a firmware upgrade on the router. havent had a problem with the 800vgt at all.

yes you can try that. if that doesn't work then the router is not syncing properly with the line
