Up to 4MB line...

I called telkom now and took out the up to 4mb line. They said my exchange doesn't support it but hopefully they are wrong... I guess we'll see later.

Anyone else have a situation like this?

My brother lives in the sticks and his exchange only supports up to 512.

Well I stay next to northgate and they say that as well... I guess it was the stix 25 years ago... LOL

Yes you are a bit far from the exchange, I stayed in North Riding about 1.2 km from the exchange and had 4mbit, Now I stay in the stix and may only have 512kbit.

I'm over 6km away from my exchange and get 4mbs so line quality must also play a major role.

I went the "up to 4mb" route and never noticed any benefit, just pay more for it.
Its just a vrot as always so don't worry about it.

I think its on the corner of pritchard and hyperion....in Jukskei Park, there is a big microwave tower next to it.
