I thought we could have 1 thread to discuss upcoming games in, as creating a thread for every game seems a bit wasteful, especially if there's only slight bits of news coming in at a time.

First up, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Can't believe it's going to be an Xbox exclusive.

Wasteland 2 directors cut... apparently there is finally gonna be modding support.

I've never played a MGS before.

Picked up Zeroes on the sale, though.

MGS is on sale on PSN. To play V, you'll need MGS3, Portable Ops (optional), and Peace Walker (chronological timeline). Ideally you should play the games in order of release dates (you don't have to play Rising for V).

Why need? Would the story not make sense otherwise? I've always been under the impression that the storyline isn't that strong anyway.

MGS has always been a story-heavy series. It holds 2 world records for longest cutscene in a game (21 minutes) and longest cutscene sequence (71 minutes). Sure, it can border on absurdity and pretentiousness and be convoluted, it's quite great.

Ground Zeroes directly follows the events of Peace Walker. In general, the series is difficult to understand if you hadn't played the other games; you need all the games leading up to that timeline.

Following the cancellation of Silent Hills, teaser P.T. is gone but not forgotten. And though it's doubtful it'll ever reemerge on the PlayStation Store, a U.K. studio called Lilith Ltd. could fill the hole it left in our horror-loving hearts with a new game called Allison Road.

Allison Road is a first-person game, currently in pre-alpha, where you play an unnamed protagonist waking up with no memory. It takes place in "one British townhouse. Your British townhouse."

"Over the course of five nights it is your objective to uncover the whereabouts of your family, unravel the mysteries of the house, and face off against Lily and other dark entities that are nested deep within its walls, while the clock is relentlessly ticking towards 3:00am," the game's description reads. "What would you do if you could feel something stalking you in the dark in the safety of your own home? If you couldn't tell what's real and what's not?"

The game's resemblance to P.T. is immediate and striking: You wake up in a house alone and confused, with your only option being to try and figure out what happened. There are clues to examine, a static-filled radio and a very creepy little girl just getting her creep on. Is she a demon girl? Does she just need a shower? Would she consider using TLC's "Creep" as her theme song instead, because the ominous background noise is not great for our stress levels?

You can watch 13 minutes of gameplay above. According to the video's YouTube page, the footage is real gameplay, but you won't see it in the full version of the game in order to preserve the story. The game began as a "one-man hobby project" in 2014, but has since grown to include a team of six.

"Even though we might not have a big budget (or a big crew for that matter), we are a bunch of highly passionate individuals who are trying to develop to the highest standards with the means we have available to us," the developer's Facebook page reads.

You could youtube the story in the above order and maybe ground zeros :)
