Jupiter Ascending

Unknown to Earth's residents, life on Earth and countless other planets has been seeded[12] by families of alien royalty[13] for the purpose of harvesting the evolved living creatures once they reach a "Darwinian state of perfection" to produce a type of youth serum that allows them to live forever.[14] When the matriarch of the House of Abrasax, the most powerful of the alien dynasties, dies[8] her children Balem (Eddie Redmayne), Kalique (Tuppence Middleton), and Titus (Douglas Booth) are at war over the heir. Eventually a new heir comes to their attention: Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), an unsuspecting Earth-living, unlucky caretaker of other people's homes.[15] Jupiter encounters Caine Wise (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered interplanetary warrior, who came to Earth to reveal that her genetic signature makes Jones royalty and heir to Earth. Meanwhile, he has to protect her from Balem, who put a bounty on her head and would rather harvest Earth than lose it to Jones.[16]

I'm getting John Carter flopping vibes even though I loved JC.

Furious 7
Furious 7 (previously known as Fast & Furious 7) is an upcoming 2015 American action thriller film. It is the sequel to 2013's Fast & Furious 6 and the seventh installment in the Fast & Furious film series. The film was written by Chris Morgan and directed by James Wan. It stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Lucas Black and Jason Statham. It is the first film of the series to take place after the events in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, with the three previous installments being set between 2 Fast 2 Furious and Tokyo Drift.

Hope this is the last one.

This will mark the final film appearance of Paul Walker who died on November 30, 2013, with filming only halfway completed. After Walker's death, filming was delayed for script re-writes and his brothers Caleb and Cody Walker being used as stand-ins to complete his remaining scenes. It is set for release on April 3, 2015.

There are a couple I'm looking out for to add to some of the ones mentioned so far.

Chappie. Neill Blomkamp's new movie.

"Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there's one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever."

In the Heart of the Sea. Ron Howard directing...

"In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. “In the Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down. Based on the book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick."

Mad Max: Road Fury. George Miller.

"Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows."

Tomorrowland. Brad Bird.

"From Disney comes two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird’s riveting, mystery adventure “Tomorrowland,” starring Academy Award winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever. Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of."

Ghostbusters reboot?

Who’s Sony Gonna Call For the ‘Ghostbusters’ Male Lead?

Just yesterday we shared a bunch of shocking Ghostbusters news, all of which came out of the ongoing Sony leaks.

It was revealed that Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer and Lizzy Caplan were all interested in joining the all-female Ghostbusters reboot, which is to be directed by Paul Feig.

Even though the ‘busters squad is all chicks, it doesn’t mean there won’t be any male leads. In fact, another leaked batch of Sony e-mails share one huge name in contention.

Via The Daily Beast, a lengthy email exchange between an exec at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and a talent manager who represents Ryan Gosling, details the exec and star’s lovey-dovey relationship. A fwd of the e-mail had a Columbia Pictures executive reveal that Gosling is interested in joining the new Ghostbusters. Furthermore, it was also leaked that there’s only one real male tole in Paul Feig’s all-female reboot, which sort of flips the original on its head.

Ryan Gosling is one of the hotter stars coming off Drive, although his resume isn’t gushing as much as we’d think. Maybe that’s why he’s so interested in joining the project, unless of course the script is that damned good (knowing that it’s attracted Jennifer Lawrence’s interest speaks volumes).

More as it comes in. What do you think of all the potential casting being reported on?

Official Teaser For ‘It Follows,’ Potentially the Scariest Movie of 2015!

A few weeks away Bloody landed the festival trailer for David Robert Mitchell’s indie It Follows, a horror film that’s primed to be one of the scariest movies – if not THE scariest movie of 2015.

We nearly gave it a perfect score – calling it “a creepy, mesmerizing exercise in minimalist horror” – when reviewed out of the TIFF this past September.

Now, thanks to Empire and Bloody reader ‘Alexander B.,’ we have the first official teaser trailer for the film set for UK distribution on February 27 (Radius-TWC has yet to set a date here in the States). There’s a lot less footage here, but it’s seriously about 10 tens more intense. I’m dying to know what this teased “item” is and why there’s only one of it. Everyone in Los Angeles has seen this movie and is raving. I am absolutely dying to check it out!

“For 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe), the fall should be about school, boys and weekends at the lake. Yet after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.”

Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi and Lili Sepe all star.

‘Batman V Superman’: New Villain, Hero & Plot Detail Rumors

Now that production has finished on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice we can start to move away from the mountain of speculation, and towards more concrete details about what the film – which features possibly THE most iconic superhero team-up of them all – will offer.

But while fans wait for a trailer or more solid story/character details, we still have only the rumor mill to go by. However, with a working script already put to film, we can probably say that there’s higher probability that any Batman V Superman rumors coming our way at this point are going to be a lot more credible.

Badass Digest is once again dropping rumors about what all is going down in Dawn of Justice, and here are some tidbits about the initial setup of the film:

The movie opens with a flashback of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) arriving in Metropolis during Superman’s fight with General Zod. We get to know the new Batman here.
Dawn of Justice actually takes place a few years after Man of Steel, when Superman (who is the focus) has established himself as a hero – with some obvious detractors like Lex Luthor and Batman.
Clark Kent and Lois Lane are still together – living together in fact – and are working at the Daily Planet.
Clark is covering fluff pieces for the Planet (like a certain Metropolis vs. Gotham footaball game that may or may not introduce Cyborg). However, his personal area of interest is investigating The Batman.

Not much investigating if he can just use X-ray vision.

Stallone is making Rambo 5 :(

After months of speculation, Sylvester Stallone has finally announced the title for the fifth (and seemingly final) “Rambo” movie, “Rambo: Last Blood.”
