Wonder if the beer in the background is what was looted from the bottle store...

A friend of mine was out on his mountain bike nearby. Luckily a cop stopped him and promptly sent him on a reciprocal course.

The Bitou Municipality says a joint operational decision was taken by the relevant authorities on Saturday morning to re-open the N2 in Plettenberg Bay.

Municipal spokesperson, Manfred van Rooyen says in a brief statement that this followed due consideration of all the factors required for safe passage on the N2 for all vehicles and pedestrians.

This, after it was closed on Tuesday evening due to community protests which resulted in several vehicles being damaged and shops being looted.

At least 71 people have been arrested for public violence, malicious damage to property, theft and being in possession of stolen goods.
