Good news for flight prices — Mango could soon prepare for take-off

Nearly three years and numerous government-imposed delays later, South African Airways' (SAA's) sale of budget airline Mango to a private entity is set to proceed, paving the way for a potential return to the skies.

Mango has been grounded since it entered business rescue in July 2021, following a punishing period of inactivity and constrained operations during the Covid-19 pandemic.

All that's left is the dried PIP.

Funny how this pops up days after SAA deal falls through.

Prices are already not too bad - its almost as cheap to fly Lanseria to Cape Town than it is to take an Uber from Sandton to Lanseria

Takatso Consortium Deal is off for over a week now.

Global pulled out of the consortium a year ago and Lift was out the deal for over a year.

Can't blame them? They wine and dine and spend millions flying idiot gov officials and their wives all over the place for meetings. Ages go by with no movement and when the final pressure is in, the idiots put the price up lol. They have a shared IQ of 1.
