I got WoW.... made the billing... installed it..... got an account and NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE STUPID DOWNLOAD UPDATE WHICH HAS BEEN STUCK ON 1% FOR ALONG TIME!!!!! :mad:

Unfair....now i must wait soooo long..... how long to the updates take to download? Should i quit?
 
Hmm... 2kbs per sec for 178 megs....gonna take awhile.... ill download the aptch from that link....does it apply itself automaticly?
 
sorry.. but i thought you KNEW of the 200MB updates that have been out there... i suggest downloading them from the SAIX site since it would be faster and then applying them to the game...
 
double-click the user friendly windows binary .exe file to apply the patch.. phew.. what a mouth full ;-)
 
1.) It wont work the downloads they have are FROM one version to another.... and i dont even have the 1st update yet...

3.) mabye i should just stick with the ZBlizzard download... its now 14kb/s and 12megs done estimate 2hrs left?
 
dude... its over 200MB of patches... ouch... you choose... eish... ;)

i was in the same boat as you but downloaded all the patches before i got my copy of WoW.... took me 4 hours @ 18kb/s..... :P

the patches are in MPQ file format ( correct me if i am wrong ) and this file has to be copied to the WoW root folder and then you run BUpdate.exe ( spelling ) for it to patch up WoW....

remember to READ the instructions just in case... :rolleyes:
 
Okay guys im downloading the retail to 1.6.0 patch..... 20kbs/s :) not too shabby....2 hrs 26min remaining...... how do i apply it?

WHAT INSTRUCTION IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT!!?!?!?!?!??!!? AND WHERE DO I GET BUpdate.exe from? Or is it in the WoW root folder!? Explain to me as if i'm a person who just bought a comp for the first time pls pls pls!!!!!

there will be an EXE file in your wow directory.

1) open windows explorer (start->programs->accessories->windows explorer)
2) navigate to the directory where the file resides. if unsure, search (start->search->for files or folders) and look for wow.exe
3) doubleclick the patch file (the name should be similar to WoW-1.????-enUS-patch.exe)
for doubleclick instructions see the now obsolete Standard Bank internet banking advert.

Once the patch installs (will take a while) it will start wow automatically and update hotfixes as it needs to.
