Hi i have replaced my intel 2.0ghz duo core with a core2duo 2.8ghz.

I have noticed that the cpu got very hot(76'c) when i powerd on the computer.Fan speed was +-4000rpm. I could not find a cpu frequency multiplier setting in the bios so i decided to update the bios to the lastest bios.

After i have done that i noticed the cpu fan ran much slower.(+-1100rpm)

Everest Ultimate show me that the cpu is running at 41'c and that it is only on 1.6ghz and not 2.8ghz as i want it to be. Everest also show me that cpu is running at 6x.

I still cannot find a cpu frequency multiplier setting in the bios. The bios pdf that i downloaded from intel reads that it should have that setting but it does not..

The computer lacks speed and performace after bios update.

Switch off speed step. It's what down clocks your processor when you aren't doing anything hectic on the pc. The multiplier will go back up when you do something cpu intensive.
