New Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 expected

Nvidia is expected to unveil an updated GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card on Tuesday, according to a report from Wccftech.

The publication has claimed that information from its sources indicate the new card will be announced at 06:00 Pacific Time — 16:00 in South Africa.

Aside from these changes, the RTX 3080 12GB will come with next-generation Ray Tracing cores, Tensor cores, and new streaming multi-processor units.

The card’s Thermal Design Power (TDP) is expected to be 350W, the same as the RTX model and 30W more than the standard version.

Jesus who wrote this? Do some fact checking!

The RTX model is the standard version! Unless you meant the Nvidia Reference models - the Founders Editions?

If it came with next generation Ray Tracing cores, it would be a 4080 and not a 3080.

Released today, but nVidia have banned everyone from the reviewing the card. Wonder why? Maybe because it’s just the same card with 2GB more VRAM, and not worth what they’re going to scalp everyone for?

I see Hardware Unboxed have a review sample, so it is more criticism towards Nvidia suppressing day 1 review. Yes, I agree with their criticism, and Nvidia does indeed deserve it.

Nvidia not announcing the MSRP is okay in my books, it merely serves to market the product. Just see how well the RX 6500 XT was received, until some technicalities or rather discrepancies came to light.

Wake me up when we have a budget card that can compete with a R1,999 RX570 4GB card from 2017.
3080 12G is great and all.. but why? Miners are just getting them, driving the costs up. etc.
Yes, more performance and less memory. Miners are in fact relying on the memory aspect of these cards.

What happened to the rumour of Nvidia reopening their 20-series production?
Oh, another limited supply 30k card? Okay.
