Updating firmware on E220 ?

... because atb the moment I am getting full signal HSDPA , and getting download speed of 400k and uploads of 200k , I would of expected a little more with a HSDPA connection .
Do you get better speeds with the new firmware? Have you tried the Vodacom sim?

I did a speedtest tonight at about 6pm and got 1.5 down and 0.4 up , now thats a lot better . Gonna try the vodacom sim and see what happens .

If I recall correctly when you use the MTN mobile connect software it sets the APN to myMTN it also uses a login name and password.

To fix this create a new profile and use the APN set to "internet" without the quotes and no username or password (this will also work on MTN)

Ginggs , when I unplug the modem , insert my Vodacom sim and reinsert the modem it says "data card invalid"

Do you unplug the modem then insert the sim and then plug it back and wait for windows to detect it? What gives you this error windows or the mtn dashboard?

Should not do that. Must be one of the very very first E220's?
Anyway, if you do want to do some tests on MTN and VC, I can get one of our sales reps to drop of a E270 on loan so can do both networks.

Let me know.

Yeah thats right Park , the Mtn dashboard gives me the "data card invalid" message .

Don’t think the MTN dashboard likes the Vodacom sim.;)
We can check if the modem is network locked or not once we get together.
I’ll set up a VC dial up connection for you without using the dashboard. That should work.
