Bad idea. Take your money and buy a MB+i5-4570/90 cpu combo deal on carbonite. What speed is your ram? you could also get 8GB of 1600MHz in the combo which will be about R3200, less without the ram.

I actually received a g4400+H110+4GB this morning from rebeltech which I'm gonna put together for the fols as a general office use type pc. Was R2500.

Hey everyone,

I'm currently sitting with this POS system:
- Intel core 2 duo
- 8gb ddr3
- 128gb SSD
- Msi Gtx260
Please don't judge :(..

Was thinking of grabbing this deal from evetech:

http://www.evetech.co.za/PC-Hardware/intel-pentium-dual-core-budget-upgrade-kit-1646.aspx

With the idea of upgrading the C/GPU at a later stage.
Let's say budget = R3.5 - 4k (for now)

General Usage: CS:GO, Ableton

Good or Bad idea?
Thanks in advance :)

G433 is not going to be noticeably faster than a Core2Duo. It's basically a Celeron.

You are going to have to spend more to upgrade, since everything in your system is outdated (you can still keep the SSD and 8gb but everything else should go or else you'll have bottlenecks.) Your GTX260 is probably worth about R6-700 secondhand, and your mobo/cpu is probably worth about R1000. That means you could spend R3000 on a new CPU/board and R2500 on a GPU. So then.....

R1300 i5 4570
Something like this minus the CPU R2000 - could maybe get R1k for that CPU.
R9 280X R2400
