Upgrade laptop Wi-Fi Intel AC 3160

Just got a new TP Link EX511 router, to which my laptop with an Intel AC 3160 Wi-Fi card, cannot connect.

So - a new Wi-Fi card is needed. Seems Intel AX200 or AX 210 are the recommended options.

There other cards that can be used, or specific recommendations.

This and you need to ensure compatible Wifi radios are enabled on the router.
 
It's probably using channel 13, should be 1, 6 or 11.

No way a laptop can't connect to a WiFi because it's too new, they are backwards compatible, of course if you set it to 5/6Ghz and you device doesn't have it then it wont see it.

Rule of thumb, if you can see the WiFi SSID on your device then you can 100% connect to it, must be a config issue.

That is the immediate issue, the router is not visible on that laptop, it just does not show up.

If it's a newish router, it may be configured to WiFi 6/6E, and/or set to 5GHz only. Change the router to 2.4GHz (which every device on earth can access), and go from there.

Laptop connects to RAIN Huawei 5G Wi-Fi 6 router without issues.

Router is set for 2.4 and 5G other newer laptop, connects without issue so do all the cellphones and streaming boxes, Shield Xiaomi 4k streaming stick, Fire TV 4K MAX Streaming Stick, and last but not least, AppleTV 4k 3rd gen box.

Just the Lenovo G50-80 laptop does not see the routers Wi-Fi.

Have you tried uninstalling all the Intel drivers and then install the Intel Driver tool that will automatically scan your Hardware and install all the latest Intel drivers for the chip set and Wi-Fi et cetera?
That can sometimes sort out Wi-Fi issues because laptop manufacturers often don't supply the latest intel drivers or the best optimised ones because they are too lazy to update them
