Hi
I wonder if anyone has any info on upgrading an MTN contract?
I am only up for an upgrade in 5 months but with 3g etc. now out I'd really like to upgrade my old 'bare essentials' package to something better and get a handset to use it with!
I have been in contact with MTN but they wont budge on the 5months to upgrade thing, they will upgrade my contract whenever but not supply me with a new handset ...whats the point if my old handset cant use the the cool new stuff?
I have been on MyCall 100 for years and had one upgrade some time ago to a Nokia 5100 (the old rubber 'dare to try and break me' number) anyway - I have upgraded my job, income, living conditions etc. since then and I want to upgrade my phone too! This old contract and hopelessly outdated handset just wont do anymore.
I asked the folk at MTNSP if they can understand that I would actually like to **give them more money every month** and how that could possibly be contrary to the policy of a successful business? The lady I spoke to was really sweet and she had a chuckle with me about that but was still unable to help.
I was wondering if someone on this forum had any experience or knowledge that may help me break into the the world of ...maybe ...say ...a business package *gasp* and possibly even ...a PDA phone **double gasp** ...and a data bundle **triple gasp and swoon**
I understand that MTN is hardly falling over themselves for my 1 measly contract and that maybe they dont 'need' my business so to speak but what happens if I decide to simply pay the monthly subscription on my current contract, make no calls for the remainder of the contract, get a contract with someone else, create the next big thing in eBusiness whilst lying in a Holiday Inn on the Platteland browsing the web my swanky new PDA phone, end up with a staff of 50000 who all need cellphones with mobile internet and decide to start my own network (at this point it would just be cheaper than paying someone else you see...) which eventually buys them out as an afterthought after crushing their market share horribly in a few short months ...all because they ticked me off when I wanted an upgrade ...who'll be lauging then, huh? ...who'll be laughing then?
MU-HA-HAHA-HAAA! Mikey will be laughing, oh yes - Mikey will be lauging then...
