Hi all ,iv decided my pc needs to be upgraded or replaced first off is the current specs the upgrade ideas . Please note all i want is for the computer to play new games (not on super high settings) comfortably online ie cod4 ,to do work , and watch movies. Will the upgrade suffice or sholuld i just replace everything ? Please note i would rather not spend large amounts of money on the computer as i still have an XBOX 360 aswell .I would like this computer to last a while .

currently the spec's are :
CPU :intel p4 3.06 ghz
GPU :nvidia gefore 6200
Ram :512 mb ddr 2 533mhz
HDD :IDE 320 gb 7200rpm
mobo:ECS P4M890T -M2

Upgrades:
Nvidia gts 250 @ R1700
2 GB ddr2 533 MHZ @ R350 (highest speed mobo accepts )

New rig :
CPU:Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition(looks like good value for money or should i go with intel )
Price : R1,939.00

GPU:NVIDIA gts 250
price : R 1700

MOBO :Asus M4N78 SE
Price : R1,048.57

Ram :4 GB DDR2

HDD : Seagate, 500Gb, 7200rpm, 32mb cache
Price : R869.00

case : coolermaster 690 @ R710

PSU : Vantec ioN2+
Price : R599.00

What do you think ?? Any changes or recommendations ??

Thanks in advance

Seriously flashfire the 250 may battle on ur current system & secondly the future rig is lekker. I don't want to start an intel/amd thrashing session but ur choice is a good upgrade.

Just keep the 320gig.

Thanks guys , so the general consensous is replace ??

NEWS 24 you have PM

Replace ... a new machine is always better ;)
Keep the HDD though

you would cripple a gts250 with a P4 processor. There is no point in upgrading that system, everything is outdated.

yep its 550W , thanks everyone for the speedy replies!! does anyone recommend a motherboard ?

Ok, thanks everyone .So ill sell the old system , how much should i ask for it ?(it does have a tv tuner , soundcard , 500 w PSU )

Can't you keep it? Having a second PC can be very useful. You can use it as a backup drive, a media center, a server, your girlfriend/wife/child's system... I had a setup like that going for a while with one pc setup for my wife and one for me and it worked nicely until the mobo blew out.
