I was thinking of getting a quadcore maybe X6600 but i want to know if its worth it and how well does it overclock?

2 or do you think i should get E6600 and how well does that OC?:)

depending what you have no i would say wait a couple of months for amd's new offering, you'll kick youself if its better :)

if you really need to upgrade go the e6600 route doesnt overclock to badly

yea rather get e6420 though extra 2 meg on da cache :)

you wont go wrong with the e6600 though, also bear in mind quadcores are a waste of money at present

if you have the cash to splash go for it

so you reckon the e6420 is better then e6600 and overclocks better?

i wouldnt say its better no

the e6420 will do max 3.6ghz and thats pushing it 3.2-3.4 will be more like it

the e6600 easily goes to 3.2ghz provided you have a good board which will be faster

If you have the money and don't mind spending go Quad Core. With a good board you could get 3GHz from it and it'll beat the X6800 stock in all tests and will simply wipe the floor with it in video encoding, benchmarks (3DM06 only though) etc... Plus it doesn't hurt being able to encode movie and play a game at the same time ;)

1 ok shock i get you how much memory would i need?
2 is 3GHz the maximum because i heard the E6600 can do more than that..
3 whats the stock settings on the X6600?
4 im a noob so please explain whats with this 3dmark6 thing?lol
