I have a Cell C contract. In September 2006 I upgraded, which was month 22 of the original contract. What I'm wondering is if I can upgrade again now, which happens to be 24 months since the last upgrade, or if I can only upgrade in 2 months time?

Basically my question is do those 2 months of the original contract fall away or get added onto this contract before I can upgrade?

Thanks

You can upgrade...

If you want to make sure check www.cellc.co.za they have a facility that allows you to check in how many days you can upgrade... Or check your service providers website... I know autopage also has this function on their website

I have been through that one with Vodacom. Not sure about Cell C. The point is that the contract wording often/usually states that if you upgrade before the 24 months, the new contract is valid for the longer period of either 24 months or as if you upgraded at the end of your contract basically meaning that the time is added to the new contract. I'm not sure if this can legally accumulate also with the expected new conditions from ICASA if it changes.

By that do you mean the 084 145 number listed on the site? As that doesn't appear to be working. My service provider, Cell C Direct, also don't seem to have any easy-to-use facilities. Why everything has to be so complicated with Cell C I have no idea...with Vodacom you just SMS a number.

Anyway, I'll be phoning The 3rd Network later to check. Thanks.

No you can actually register on CellC.co.za and it will be able to tell you how many days are left... I know I did this before I wanted to upgrade... The next upgrade I ported to MTN ;)
