Upgrade time, which phone next?

My contract upgrade is due in 6 months.

I've had two iPhones and two Android phones. I like both operating systems. My current Sony Z3 is perfect.

So is there anything exiting to look forward to or is it time to cancel the device subsidy and hang on to the Z3 for a few more years?

Btw my iPhone 4, in use by my housemate, is 5-6 years old and still working well (excluding the replaced home button, currently breaking power button and busted charger).

The thermal imaging of this phone is interesting though: Cat S60

6 months is an eternity with phones. Having said that, Galaxy Note 7.

Well there's a Z5 Compact, or just going the normal Z5.

Which is no better than the Z3. There is no incentive to upgrade.
Exactly
I calculated quickly, atm I use 200 minutes voice and 500 mb data per month on my phone, which cost me R450 pm, including the phone. On prepaid, it will cost my R270 for 200 minutes, and R 105 for 500 mb data, totals to R375 pm, which is not really a great saving. I thought the saving would be bigger.

Yes, it's quite the misconception that prepaid is full of savings. Contract is only bad if you're irresponsible.

At MTN it would cost: 200min * 79c = R158
and R29 for 500MB from Afrihost
Total cost: R187
