so i am thinking of upgrading my pc, and since my knowledge on these are limited, I've decided on an upgrade kit

i found something within my budget - the gpu will have to wait a month or 2 though

what is your thoughts on the below
Intel Core i5 3550 Upgrade Kit - ASUS P8ZZZ-V PRO SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Motherboard - Intel Core i5 3550 3.3GHz Quad Core CPU - Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Gaming RAM

is this a good buy for 5,4k? i might go for the i5 3570k which is only 100 bucks more

also will my current psu, gigabyte 480W (i think) be enough for now. i will run the above with my gfx 9600gt, and 2 hdds?

[edit]
thinking about it now
if anyone can recommend all the 3 compunents above for a 4-5k budget, then i might be able to get a new gpu sooner ;)

R5.4k for that!? That is a complete waste.

Rather go the following route:
CPU: i5-3570K 3.4GHz @R 2,299
Mobo: ASRock Z77 Pro3 @R 1,304
RAM: 2x 4GB G.Skill DDR3 1600MHz CL9 1.5V @R 529
Total: R 4,132

Is it an Odin or Odin GT PSU? If it is not an Odin GT, then I'd recommend that you upgrade that too when you buy a new graphics card.
At this moment the XFX ProSeries 550W one is an excellent buy at R700.

Edit:
The big difference between my suggestion and Evetech's upgrade kit is that their motherboard costs R2700 and the one that I suggested costs only R1300!
There's no point in buying such an expensive motherboard, unless you're going for an ultra-high end gaming PC with dual graphics cards, big case and strong PSU.

If you want pretty much all the features of that Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard (except for WiFi), then you can have a look at the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard which goes for R 1,780.00.

so what pada said :)

thank you!

i'm assuming all the components mentioned are compatible? the reason i was looking at a kit was just due to me not knowing which components will be compatible

ps: i doubt i'll ever go for dual gpus - i like gaming but not that much

[edit]
searching for your components pada, i found them a few bucks cheaper only could not find the same ram
will this ram ddr3-133 or this ram ddr3-1600 work with the board? as i am thinking of buying all the stuff at one place

I'd recommend DDR3 1600MHz.

The components that I listed should be compatible.

Also, when you order from Wootware, they usually also double-check that you order compatible/sensible components.
Like the one time I deliberately ordered a Socket 1366 motherboard (takes RAM modules in multiples of 3) and 2 RAM modules, and then they suggested that I rather buy 3 RAM modules...
