I'm upgrading the following PC:

P5K] - ASUS Intel P35 LGA775 Motherboard
E8400 CPU
2GB 800MHZ RAM
250 HDD + 320
LG DVD Writer
Sound blast Audio Card
8800GT Graphics Card
Samsung 2232GW
Gaming Case + Fans
keyboard + Mouse
Logitech x540

Questions:1. Will the Coolermaster 550W be able to handle the PC and is it a reliable brand?
2. Is this a good gaming rig to last me a year maybe 2?
3. Will i have any compatibility issues?

Feel free to post any input...

Thanx in advance!

Should work perfectly. Although not Coolermaster's higher end models (Realpower), they at least don't "pretend" to supply the power quoted. Your PC will probably run perfectly on a good 380W. The CPU especially uses very little power. and the 8800GT uses less power than the old 8800's.

It's a perfect best bang for buck gaming PC at the moment. P5K is an excellent board.

1. Well it will run it fairly comfortably, I have one and its fairly quite, has the power to run my machine at a medium overclock (3.2ghz e6600, 675/790mhz 8600GT, 2gb ram) daily. It is fairly reliable as I still have another one running for about a year now, no problems. If you got no plans of SLi at a later stage, from ur board it doesn't seem so, then the 550W will be good. One suggestion other than the PSU would be to go with 4gb ram, rather make the investment now since RAM prices are looking pretty good, prophecy and landmarkpc have some capable sets at good prices. Oh and u might wanna get a nice mouse too, if you into gaming a leka mouse makes the experience just that much better. You can get a razer for cheap or even a cybersnipa

2. It is a pretty good rig, in terms of overall experience. I would reckon that if you give it a go at overclocking that rig even to minimum levels achieved by most then you will have a rig that will be pretty comfortable with most games atm. I'd say that you'd get a year running games with a fair amount of eye candy but two years is definitely pushing it especially if you want to play the latest stuff that will be coming out.

3. I doubt you'll have any compatibility issues other than friends with crappy pc rejecting you cos u can run alot of games on very high :P

I got the same mb and psu

They realy not that bad

I like it.
