I currently have Windows 7 Home on my laptop.
I have a spare Windows 7 PRO licence.
How can I use this spare licence to upgrade "Home" to "Pro"
I want to keep my data & programs.

Want to do this so that I upgrade to Windows 10 Pro

Thanks

Try to start the windows install from inside windows

You can use the Windows anytime upgrade option. It is available from the start menu and your control panel.

Use the Windows Anytime Upgrade feature:

- Open Windows Anytime Upgrade by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type anytime upgrade, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Anytime Upgrade .

- Follow the instructions on each page

Microsoft no longer offer Windows anytime upgrade for Windows 7

Then you should make sure that all your user files (docs, emails, videos, photos, etc.) are all contained within your user profile folder (located under C:/Users/...) and back up that folder to another drive.
Then reformat and re-install the new Pro version of Windows and simply restore your profile to the newly formatted drive.
