Only a few things, if not one ,that you can upgrade on a laptop and that's the RAM. Desktops on the other hand can be built from the ground up

You can usually upgrade the CPU of a laptop, unless its an Ultrabook. The problem however is obtaining such a CPU, because you cannot buy them from a shop. The only way you can get the CPU is if you buy a complete laptop - like a broken one for example.

With my old laptop, I can even upgrade my graphics card, but its so not worth it.

I have upgraded a laptop CPU from a Celeron to a Core 2 Duo before.

It can sometimes be done but it takes a lot of research and you usually have to strip the whole laptop to get to the CPU.

I found a CPU that would match my laptop, ordered it directly from eBay and finally installed it..

But to be honest, it's not worth the hassle. Rather save up and buy a new laptop.

thx
it got 2gb ram (can only handle one slot)

so thinking of swaping it out for a 8gb stick
and later get a 256gb ssd

but all that worth it in that slow cpu laptop, the laptop is rather new got it for a good price :)

First you need to check if the cpu is socketed or soldered. Next you have to find a replacement with a similar TDP else things could overhead. Once you have identified a CPU head on over to ebay ato try and find one.

Isn't there a maximum amount of RAM certain motherboards support, just make sure the laptop is compatible with the 8GB stick and not limited to 4GB.

What I did with mine was check what it could handle (in terms of RAM and HDD size) and also check what CPU's are supported by the chipset.

I have since discovered that what I have at the moment is as good as it gets.

:( really sucks anyways thx :)

but says the cpu can handle 8gb,but 8gb may be a overkill with that cpu
but donno 8gb/256gb ssd may help make it work a little faster/less laggy,as those cheap 5400 drive are Fn slow on task manager it max out on 10mb/s!!

have no idea what mobo it have

A SSD will relieve that lagginess you feel with a 5400rpm laptop drive. $GB ram should be fine for most people.

Intel Bay Trail processor, soldered-in socket, upgrades are not going to happen there. 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD should be enough to take away most of the slowdowns you will encounter.

Just remember that Bay Trail platforms only work with DDR3-L memory (low voltage). You'll want something like the module belows if you want to jump to 8GB:

ADATA Premier 8GB DDR3L-1600MHz @ R1039
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3L-1600MHz @ R1091
