Picked up an Explora recently and decided that it's time to do the installation. I currently have extraview all setup and the configuration is HD PVR in the tv room and a 1110 unit in my bedroom.

Am i right in saying that i can just swap the cables out on each unit? Well, obviously i would take lnb 1 & 2 and connect those to the multiswitch and then explora A output into the unicable port on the Explora? Connect the heartbeat cable to the RF out on the explora. Then i'll move the HD PVR into my bedroom and same applies. Heartbeat cable into the RF in port. Then connect the remaining cables as they were before.

I also have a funny feeling that there's a splitter in my attic somewhere. There's lnb 1 & 2 cables in my bedroom which don't go back to the tv room.

After that i then phone multichoice and tell them to activate the explora as my primary and switch the HD pvr to secondary?

Sounds logical enough to me :p

Yup, comes with the Explora :)

forgot about that, haven't got an Explora yet, but swapped out my 1110 with a new HD single view decoder I had setup for XtraView with my 4P last weekend, really was just a case, of making sure the cables went into the same inputs and outputs and then spending time on the phone with MC as they did the rest

Awesome, thats what i was hoping :)

What do you mean here?

There's 3 cables that run into the 1110 in my bedroom. 1 is the heartbeat cable which i know runs to the tv room as it is plugged into the HD PVR. The other 2 cables connect to the lnb 1 & 2 inputs on the back of the 1110. There is no trace of these cables in my tv room.

I am assuming that when the installation was done, the installer installed a splitter in my attic which runs the lnb 1 & 2 cables from the dish and then feeds off into the 2 different directions. Make more sense?

Does that decoder us two cables?

If its the same cable splitted than it won't work on the HD-PVR anyway.

I'm working on an assumption here. It could even be 2 cables pulled directly from the dish. Guess there's only 1 way to find out! (well, 2 actually but i don't feel like crawling around in my attic!)

So he needs another lnb feed I the bedroom, and install the explora switch in place of the current multiswitch... Then one of the lnb cables in his TV room won't be used any more as the explora uses a single unicable.

No, he'll still need to use both cables.

Both run into the new multiswitch, only from there it goes out into the decoder as a single cable.
