Upgrading me connection!?

Please don't tell me I need a new modem or such to upgrade my line from 128kb to the new version thats the same price (think it was 200-300 something). That means waiting 5 months for Telkom, endless phone calls etc! Sorry if this has been asked before, I just woke up hung over blah blah. Thanks guys

are you on ISDN?

or did you mean 192k ADSL?

if you meant 192k ADSL, you will be upgraded to 384k ADSL in August. if you want fater than 384k, upgrades to 512k or 1024k are free. but monthly line rental obviously increases.

if you have ISDN, you will need an ADSL router to get ADSL speeds.

Sorry lol, ment 192k. <- Awake now. Wait, do you mean I will be upgraded automatically by Telkom? Or do I have to arrange it. Because I defnitally want to go 384k. (Don't mind the spelling)

all adsl modems will be fine even the telkom ones, so no u will not need a upgrade...

And yes if your exchange can handle it u will get upgraded automatically... although i would phone in to make sure.

no, they will not charge. but i think line rental goes up a tad? about R10 - R20? or maybe it drops by R10 - R20.

line rental going up to close to R100/month. What a robbery. Considering my phone call comes to R50/month. Thanks for the info. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Telkom charged me for my upgrade but good to hear they won't.

384k is dropping to around about the 192k price..
