That is a very good option. After seeing your setup, I am inclined to offer an alternative suggestion, as a better speaker might do better in a larger space, and the current ones seem to do well in your small space? Why not get the Wharfedale 12.1 or even the MA Bronze 100 to then do duty in the front rooms-scenario? Just a thought... controlling bass in a 4x4m space can be very tricky.

Not a bad idea at all - I'm still getting a feel for what the wifey wants exactly.

Happy wife, good life? It does make sense to place larger loudspeakers towards a larger room. The only reason the MA Bronze 100 is being considered is purely due to the price I can get them for. But after some research, I'm starting to lean to the following

MA Bronze 100
Klipsch R50m
Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 (Does over extend my "budget") but a solid choice it seems.

Still undecided at this point, but gut says Wharfedale.

Very true

In fact, the WiiM has this nifty little room correction tool in its app, and for the life of me I couldn’t fix the crossover between the sub and the speakers at 80Hz. There was a massive -4+- db drop then a sudden peak

Long story short, moving the sub all over the room to find the sweet spot wasn’t needed, all I had to do was keep it where it was and turn it 90 degrees, with its rear facing the corner of the wall… magic, dip gone just like that and the crossever at 80Hz is either spot on or -1db, that sudden extreme drop wasn’t an issue.

Placement is key and I learned that quickly, so that my wife hahahaha. Shame, all I heard was “Please just for an hour, don’t run that high pitched tests again”

Edit:
That simple turn on the sub so that its driver was closer to the wall also gave my lows a tighter response and the boomy sound was much less pronounced. A good drum solo was my first test and boy I was smiling and felt that those hits in my chest

Never heard of them, the rabbit hole just goes deeper

What will you be using as amplification if you get the Opals? Because the Wiim might not be enough...... in saying that, I mean that the Wiim might not be able to drive them to their full potential

@SauRoNZA Local shop sold their last Klipsch set in bookshelf range, plenty of floor standing sets

What’s your personal take on the Klipsch when it comes to its sound signature on the highs, are they harsh or a bit brighter

Reason I ask is, it seems a few people mention this in forums and it has me thinking they might fatigue your ears for hours of listening and teams meetings

I’m not a basshead at all and so I think they are bright in a good way, but I do think it’s an acquired taste.

Had very limited exposure to them, but I’ve always liked it.

So it really depends on what you like.

I can also open this page but when I click on any of the tracks to play them I get a popup that says "The rights-holders have not made it possible to listen to this track". Any clues??

Thing is, even if you do get Qobuz to work via your PC, how do you get the data to your amp? Bluetooth compresses the data lossy, so all benefits of the good recording is lost. Surely you're not relying on your PC's DAC either, which is bottom of the quality range!? Imagine streaming THAT then via BT!?

Maybe post the tracklist here so we can stream from Tidal in HD, in my case via my Sonos Port into my DAC, enuring lossless data to my amp.......?
 
Speaking of streaming hi-res sources, I kinda wish Spotify would finally launch their hires lossless stream 😡

Would be interesting to see the difference in quality to what’s available

With you on this one, I enjoy the mixes they create and the suggested playlists
For now, Tidal is my daily driver.
YouTube music hasn’t seen me in a month, they actually rocked up at my place just this week to check in if I’m alright
 
On a side note
Sourced a Monitor Audio Bronze 100 set for R4600 in Uitenhage (Kariege)
My dad knows the ou and went over to check the condition - Mint
Had them for a few months and packed everything away for immigration, which fell through the floor.

They still have more than a years warranty intact as well. Should get these by Tuesday
