ok, my signal strength is awesome, I have the older desktop modem (white one) and it has all 5 signal lights on. signal strength says that its 70%, i ran a speedtest on the stupid iBurst site and it showed my download speed is 50 kbps and upload speed is 200kbps??? i used to get speeds of 350 down until this monday that just passed (8 September 2008). I ran the DrTCP and ensured all my info is as the stupid ISP recommends, rebooted my modem, made sure the latest firmware was on it, and i get the same results using USB as well as ethernet. Can anyone help me with this as ive desperately been tryin to download files from MU (megaupload) and the connection times out or it takes over 20 hours cos the actual download speed is 8-10 kbps. Any help or suggestions and is anyone else also experiencing a similar problem?

Hi Khaniri,

I had this exact same issue about 2 years ago - I spoke to then representative Ed Hall. He denied that there was any problem with my tower (I live in Northgate), blamed it on me being in a, then, poor coverage area. He had no response to the logical question - why is the upload speed fine and the download speed slow, when I am not capped and, presumed, in a bad coverage area.
The issue eventually resolved by itself .. or they figured it out but never let me know what the cause of the problem was.

thanks for the help guys, turned out my AV wasnt picking up a virus that I had, so I installed Comodo instead and this sorted me out after a scan.

Thanks again
