Hi guys,

I am running the 10Gb/month 8ta sim card in a 3G dongle, connected to a TP-Link Wireless N router.

The problem I have is that when uploading almost anything, I am getting incomplete files. It happens via FTP uploads and also one certain website upload options.

For eg I will upload an image via FTP, test.jpg (200kb) local size, when it finished uploading it shows test.jpg (78kb) on the web site side.

It seems to happen with files over 100kb.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? My signal is fair, I get 2.46mb/s down and 1.03mb/s (http://www.speedtest.net/result/1821216854.png)

Thanx

It could be anything from the FTP client you use (which doesn't seem to have resume?) or the server (that doesn't support resume?) and whatever in between.

Have you tested this from another connection yet?

I am using FileZilla but it seems to happen with any client. Also happens with any website I work on, hosted here or in the states.

In my previous office, which had an ADSL line I didn't have any problems at all!

The only common denominators here is the connection and the router?

I had the exact same problem with my TP-Link MR3420: great Sppetest.net uploads but in the real world I was barely breaking 3KB/s. I mailed the guys at Uniterm Direct and they sent me updated firmware and instruction to make the following change on the router 'Bandwidth Control' screen:
Please enable Bandwidth Control and add the value 7372 in the ingress box and the value 5836 in the egress box
Obviously you can make the Ingress/Egress values higher of you have a faster than 7.2Mb/s modem. Those are the settings for my 7.2 E230 modem.

The bandwidth control settings made no sense to me since I don't have anything connected to the WAN port of the router. Without those settings and the updated firmware, my upload speeds remained kak. So I added the setting they provided and now I have 150KB/s plus upload speeds.

Hey lcbxx I also have the TP-Link MR3420 and real world uploads is very poor. Just done the Bandwidth control suggestion and done the speedtest.net net now and it's completely different (worse), but then again it's a different time of day. Going to try the firmware update and will let you guys know how it went.

So upgraded to 3.12.8 Build 110418 Rel.43954n and speeds are still relatively the same but initial tests show completed FTP uploads, no half completed files yet! Will report back if the problem comes up again!

Thanx guys

Drop me a PM with your e-mail addy. I have firmware 3.12.19 build 110617.

Hey lcbxx - just a quick bit of feedback - the new firmware is working like a bomb, not a single dropped file or incomplete upload since!

Thanx mate

Sorry to hijack thread.

Will this firmware u guys have help with having to reset the router?

No it doesn't reset the router, it retains all settings.

U battling to reset?

I don't mean reset sorry man. I mean sometimes I have to plug switch the router on and off for it to give wifi.

The wifi signal is there but no internet so I Pull the power and restart it then it works. not all the time but I have to do it sometimes. once a week or so.

Yea I still get that, in my case ave once a day. I think that is more dependent on the network and signal strength/interference, I might be wrong though.

I have the same issue with basically the same specs that you have, I even have issues uploading attachments to gmail. eventually out of frustration I rip the modem out of the TP-link wireless router and just use it in a USB slot then my attachments / uploads fly!

Kitneyi try updating to the latest firmware, solved my issues. PM ur email addy if you want me to send you a copy of it.

and fix Bandwidth Control Settings - this fixed upload issues for me
