Hi all,

I take it that MyWireless is an asynchronous system. Does anyone know what the upload speeds for the 3 offerings is gonna be?

Thanks

128k... just 128k nothing more nothing less there a simple answer:)

Why would they keep it at 128k for uploads on all packages, I thought they would keep it comparative with ADSL, and make it at least 256k on their 512k package.

If the network does use satellite as the return path, then there is no reason why it could not be 256k, since VSTAR is 256k, and I would imagine it uses the same return hub?

Anyone know more?

I think their keeping it 128k becuase they don't have allot of Upload speed to give to all their clients they want to see if this will work first I'm guessing before investing more money into better upload rates. and Noone where did you hear that show me a link or some fact stating that? And I do not talk "out my ass" as you so bluntly put it.

nope. Probably because they want it to be a home service. Limiting the upload speed means its not so usefull for trying to run hosting companies off of it etc.

Um so what are you saying? That they do have 256k connection for upload or that they have 128k connection?

Sentech representatives (eg. ProAsm) have stated that the upload speed on all of the residential packages (ie. the ones that should be available in a few days time...) will be 128Kbps.

I wonder if Sentech is going to offer a BUSINESS package in the NEAR future, with higher upload bandwidth and static IP's.

Until then, I might just decide to use a residential package... [:D]

err not quite sure where this Residential package came from ?
Speeds are 128/128 - 256/128 - 512/128 for everyone, unless there is something I dont know, which is not impossible [:D]
Apparently a Static IP is available with the 512 system if requested but dont quote me on that [:)]

Just to pick nits, you mean asymmetric not asynchronous.

The packages currently featured on Sentech's website are what I refer to as the residential packages, as they are clearly aimed at residential-type (or maybe SOHO) usage; dynamic IP address, low upload bandwidth, etc.

Someone in the #mywireless@shadowfire IRC channel, purportedly working for Sentech, mentioned that they would most likely have business-oriented packages, but that these would be launched later in the year; these would have features like static IPs etc., but presumably would be priced higher.
