Upload to Google Photos

Any backed all their photos to Google Photos at all ?

When I click upload, it asks for files - nit directories. I want to add everything, but not selecting file by file :/

Using it to backup phones photos last couple months. Works great in that way.

Wouldnt use it on pc etc

I've always used it on the phone - fantastic. I've pretty much got every photo I've ever taken in the last few years.

But I have thousands and thousands of photos on my HDD from 16 years back that I want to upload too. I just went to that PC and uploaded from it.

For those who use it, what happens to duplicates if you have the same photo size / name?

I've taken photos with my phone (backed to Google automatically) but in some cases I put these in my local collection as well. Now, I'm backing up the local collection with the same photos.

Does it duplicate add to my storage quota ?

You need to delete duplicates first.

For me the Google Drive app just synced the entire pictures folder, didn't have to select anything individually.

It's under Computers > device name (my laptop in my case) > Pictures

Use Google backup and sync, don't use the photos app.
