I have this Eaton 2000VA unit, when loadshedding hits at midnight, I turn it off on the button when its at about 91% when my PC has been shut down.

The following day at 18:00 I boot up my PC and the UPs app tells me that its on 88-92% charge although its meant to be charging throughout the day (keep in mind there is load shedding at night and during the day).

Should the UPS have a small internal draw even if its turned off?

Ciao.

There are a couple of things for example:

The battery will settle to a lower "resting" voltage once its disconnected from the charger.
If its a soft switch the controller will still draw a small current in "sleep" mode.
The temperature may be cooler.
The batteries internal resistance will use some capacity(older batteries have a higher resistance)

My 2000va and 650va eatons does the same since i bought them brand new.

The 650va is on 91% at the moment and LS was from 18:00-20:00 it was on 100% before power went off. Was switched off at the button.

So maybe some don't charge when off

All the old ups's i had charged while off

They charge slow but not that slow

Yeay they do charge when switched off at the button. On the 2000va the fan takes forever to stop when power returns without you even using it.

I was disappointed when i saw the Eatons doing it i mean i switch them off to save the battery so i can turn it on for to use my pc work quickly if needed but the usage is much lower then. I worked/fixed different brands and they don't do this.

So i was bored :)

So this was before LS i switched it off and unplugged it.

After LS

From 17:47 till 21:42 it still shows charging 95% :X3:

This is from this morning LS was 08:00-10:00

So i decided to check why it went down according to the software. Current draw is very minimal when switched off and unplugged. Battery voltage was at 13.22v.

Charge current is horrible my phone charges with more amps
