I've got a 600VA UPS that doesn't seem to be taking any power from the AC source. Does anyone know of any places in Cape Town that I can take it to where they could have a look and tell me if its repairable? Thanks.

They cost like R300 - cheaper to buy another one.
Or let a buddy with some know-how open it and fiddle.

Have you checked the fuse? I got a UPS also will not charge from AC and always in backup mode. Replaced the fuse today and working again.

OK, popped the hood off and actually took the circuit board, has two 30A fuses ... soldered onto it! From what I can see, at least one is still intact but there's a heatsink blocking the other. Thought I'd probably have to replace the whole unit, probably cheaper than having repair done, have ordered new one anyway ... at least I have a really cool doorstop now :)
