UPS switches off way before battery is empty

Hi. Check at local electronics store in your area, they may sell ones that are referred to as iec 3 pin line plugs. You can assemble/attach power cord to it.

I have a APC Back UPS 500, with a brand new 18amp battery. My runtime is exactly 45mins..... I am only powering my WiFI Router and POE for antenna on the roof. Voltage measured 13.1V around 35mins into loadshedding.

I allso for the life of me cant figure out what the issue is

I had an APC, it never had a timer and ran forever on 100ah batteries. I think it just depends on the particular UPS.
 
This is happening to me at the moment. Multiple RPC UPSs die at exactly the 2hr mark. The batteries are still reporting to have ample charge, so something else must be happening.

Is it possible that other zones going off at the next loadshedding cycle cause a brief surge, kicking the UPSs back to pass through mode before killing them? I find it so bizarre that multiple die simultaneously! Unless of course there is a timer. Perhaps I should switch one on at the 1hr mark and see what happens to it

I'm guessing timer
 
This has nothing to do with battery voltage, I have connected a 12.8volt DC supply to my mecer vu 650 battery output and the unit still cuts off at exactly 2 hours. Disconnect the Com board and it still cuts off at 2hrs. So there must be a timer. Someone one here said they disconnected the timer, please share how that is done, thanks

Guys I have a eaton 5e I gad same problem uts 360w. I am only using 90w. It switches after 30 minutes no mater what even if there mo load, u found this strange so I opened it and saw there was no fan I decided to put. Fan then I took out small battery from inside out I put external car battery for testing but for charging from ups I will charge this battery with my external battery charger but still 30min

Mine only lasted 30min even with no load I'm sure this ups have timers I even put a dan inside tool small battery out and put external car battery which I will charge with crek charger but still and 50w load

Could be a timer. does it have a USB port on the front? Some of my previous units allowed me to adjust minor settings via the viewpower(?) software.

Although 50W load is minimal and I have seen bigger units simply turn themselves off with such small loads. These units are all made for PCs and expect a bigger load by default. Not sure if it is the same with these smaller units. My Mecer 650VA unit has some low load allowance or something and I can hear it trigger a relay if I remove the TV from it (my main load), and it is only running a small USB camera. Although I have never tested to see how long it will remain running with such a low load. Mine does kill itself at the 2 hour mark, no matter the load or the state of charge though.

my rct units do the same ,when power come on you have to turn it off for a few minutes to silence it before restarting it .

There is an ic which is not adjustable, which controls the cut off time, on most ups products, not all though. Be careful with external battery add ons, minimal load only, otherwise the transformer can overheat and blow permanently
