Hi Guys,

Need some help please, a friend of mine is looking for a power cable for his external hard drive...its the older version so its a : (S video to a plug) cable that his looking for ...tried matrix and the others but none stock these :( ...please let me know of any other places we could try or perhaps if you have a spare one you willing to sell....thanks in advance

Matrix might not stock the Cable... but I know for a fact that they sell the Hard Disk Enclosures that use those cables. I have bought several of them recently. I have a few of them at home. But don't want to sell them. sorry. Just buy another enclosure. They are only about R150 to R300.

ok, let me check if the ones I have are exactly the same and interchangeable... then I will think about it. :D
 
I might have one of those cables at home. I bought an enclosure but only used it for a day. I prefer the 2.5" drives as you don't need the extra power adapter, the 3.5" hdd enclosures are also a bit big.

I'll check tonight when I get home if I still have the cable, u can buy it if you want.

Ooops... I forgot to check :o

Was busy filling the fish tank last night.

All my removable drives are in the garage at the moment... will pull them out tonight. Sorry.

Setting my alarm now to remind me! ;)
 
lol cool no prob...my lights are out at the moment and will prob only be fixed on monday so can only log-on on monday again in any case :(
 
just remember, that in some cases if you use a different power cable (even if it looks the same) the drive might pop, happened twice at Nedbank

Yep, can confirm this first hand. I went and bought a new 250Gb drive and an enclosure and was to lazy to unpack the new power pack, so i decide to use my old one which was still plugged in. Well I was not a very happy chappy when the new drive popped. Apparently it has something to do with the pin configuration and wiring to the pins.

lol not me eishkom !!!!! or neotel cut the wrong cable or something ...either way wont have power until tonight if im lucky or monday if im not !!!!

dont worry pumpkin_king im not that hazerdous....yet!!!!
 
OK, so I do have two of these thingies... and they look kinda similar... but they are from different makes of removable hard drive. Now I am scared to part with one lest they not actually be the same :( Sorry man.
