Urgently Need a Laptop

Hello

I was the unlucky victim of crime... I urgently need a replacement laptop. The best deal which I can find is the following: http://www.incredible.co.za/ProductDescription.aspx?SKU=74007

Now i know it is incredible corruption... but there is nowhere else I could find the same specs for the same price. Ideally I want the smallest possible laptop, with the best possible specs. My budget is 12k though.

Also is it possible for someone to give me links to suppliers websites ( I am able to convince friends to purchase from there ). I would just like to see what the going prices are currently for the same specs.

Like most of the DV series, it comes in various configurations. (DV7 is out I believe)

What features do you need the most?
Gaming ability (ATI discreet graphics), screen size (15.6"/16:9), processor power (i7), weight etc..

The Samsung R590 is quite a good contender (i5 /Nvid GT330M 1Gig). They may also have an i7 now.

For build quality, Toshiba is very good, but you pay a pretty penny for decent graphics.

R12k is quite a lot to spend, so do it wisely!
 
Okay, one last question... I can get a display model (which went on display yesterday) or i have to wait a week (where they might not get stock). Should I wait or go for the display?
 
What is the screen resolution?

Love the way these ads omits one of the most important criteria.

If they're advertising it (on special) then they should have enough stock.
Only buy a display model if reduced and happy with the smudges.
 
Just to close off this thread. I went to dion wired where they had the demo model of the laptop. For R1000 cheaper, R8999 they had the exact same laptop only 15.6", normal DVD writer (not bluray rom), and 500gb hdd (not 1TB). I decided to rather get the one for 8999 as ultimately a laptop should be portable (and anyhow at home my laptop is plugged into a docking station). The loss of the 1tb hdd is not such an issue either as storage is cheap and lastly a bluray rom is one of those nice to have features which is not used often. So yes, ultimately I think I struck quite a bargain. An i7-720, 6gb ram, ATI 5650 gfx card for R8999.
