US actions could open "Pandora's Box" - Huawei

Huawei Technologies Co. is bracing for its most difficult year on record in 2020, when tightening U.S. sanctions and the Covid-19 pandemic threaten to slam an already slowing business.

Rotating Chairman Eric Xu said he’s aware of the potential for Washington to tighten restrictions on the company, including by stopping Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. from selling chips to Huawei. [Bloomberg]

Huawei CEO Mr. Ren Zhengfei:
“Social progress requires collaboration for shared success. It’s simply impossible for individual countries to develop on their own in the information world.”
“In the information era, it’s impossible for a country to single-handedly make anything,”

An interpretation:
Countries are too stupid to create and operate their own telecomms networks, and cannot do anything unless you use Huawei equipment so that the Chinese Communist Party can spy on your nation and thus help your nation make "social progress".

Everyone knows what social "progress" looks like in Communist China.
Will Africa embrace the takeover and control by China, of its critical infrastructure (road, rail, power, telecomms)?

The US hasn't proved anything yet.

Would have been nice if China used those communication devices to tell the rest of the world that a bat sh t storm was coming our way ......

Anyway, China are South Africas new lords and masters ....... SA simply bends over and takes one for team China.
The US may not be able to operate without the Chinese, but at least have the stones to stand up and hurl insults at them ......
