The protests and riots have been happening for a while now and Trump’s approach hasn’t benefited him at all from a polling standpoint. Right now Trump is in a much worse position than 2016 and nothing seems to make a dent in Biden’s numbers. So maybe the polls are all wrong but I’m doubtful that the protests are going to shift opinion in favor of Trump.

Did it? Do you have proof of that? Trump’s poll numbers haven’t gone upwards in a very long time. I’d argue that his approach - like tear-gassing peaceful protesters for photo ops and sending unidentified federal agents to arrest people without warrants and stoking racism and coddling white supremacists and murderers and belittling the BLM movement - has put more people off than anything.

There weren't unidentified agents
There was no stoking of racism (unless you count celebrities stoking the flames)
There was no coddling white supremacists

BLM deserves to belittling the organisation is a sham and any self respecting person know that.
Back to the question at hand yes it did move public sentiment. Watching :mostly peaceful" protests go on for months will have an effect. Safety is on of the most important voting metrics for people.
