At least six people have been shot and killed in Michigan in a series of apparently random attacks.

Three people have also been injured in the attacks, which happened on Saturday night, according to NBC News, which quoted the sheriff's office.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas said: "We seem to be dealing with a worst-case scenario: someone driving around, finding people and shooting them dead in their tracks."

Mr Matyas said police were first called at around 7.50pm local time to an apartment building in Kalamazoo County where a woman had been shot many times. She was later described as being in a serious condition in hospital.

Hours later officers were called to a Seelye Kia dealership, where two people had been shot dead and a third shot and injured.

So sad :(

At around 1.50am local time, police said they had arrested a suspect, who was being questioned in custody.

Mr Matyas said the man, described as a 45-year-old white man who lives locally, did not resist arrest and that weapons were found in his vehicle.

He added: "The threat to the public is over. We now have our suspect."

I'm just grateful that, once again, an armed bystander was able to take the shooter out before the carnage escalated... Oh, wait.

yes lets ban guns and see what happens :)

swords!

at least the stronger will then survive!

in any case, its not like the age old argument helped, "yeah but how do we defend ourselves against guns? with guns!" there was nobody defending against the shooter with another gun, only chaos and death for civilians(with guns for protection)..

Not calling for a ban, just common sense at the point of sale... My post was specifically to ridicule 'ol Wayne LaPierre who'll be popping up with a sound byte any moment now.

Michigan Shooting Suspect Was an Uber Driver Who Picked Up Fares Between Shootings

Last night a man in Kalamazoo, Michigan shot eight people at random, killing at least six of them. The shootings took place in three different locations and terrifyingly, the suspect was an Uber driver who allegedly picked up at least one fare in the middle of his five-hour massacre.

Police believe that the shooter was Jason Dalton, a 45-year-old man with no prior criminal convictions. Local news channel WOOD TV8 has confirmed that Dalton is an Uber driver. The police are now investigating a Facebook post that was allegedly made by the fiancé of one of the passengers that Dalton picked up in between the initial murder locations and the shooting at a Cracker Barrel in Texas Township.

How's an unsuspecting victim going to defend himself, if he don't even know an attack is comming?

Kalamazoo shootings: Uber driver blames app

An Uber driver who is accused of killing six people in the US state of Michigan has told police that the Uber app took over his "mind and body", setting off his shooting spree.

Police said Jason Dalton, 45, carried out the shootings on 20 February while working for the ride-sharing company.

"When I logged onto [the Uber app], it started making me feel like a puppet," Mr Dalton told investigators.

He claims that the smartphone programme told him to kill his victims.

Although none of the victims were Uber customers, police said Mr Dalton continued to pick up passengers during the shooting spree in Kalamazoo, a small city about 150 miles (241km) west of Detroit.

Uber has said Mr Dalton underwent background checks, but passed because he had no criminal record.

Why wasn't he wearing his tinfoil hat?

Was he a Islamic Jihadist or a white terrorist ?
