US states get 'shoot first' law

You are not allowed to fire a warning shot. The warning is verbal and backed up by the fact that you have a firearm in thine hand ;)

Realistically, it's 'bang', 'stop or I'll shoot', 'I told you so' .....

The same country that illegally invades and kills thousands and tortures and locks up people with no recourse to justice , spies on their own citizens and we should follow their sterling example ???.

Funny.

Argumentum ad hominem.

Yet another low blow from Tibby.

although speaking as someone in the US - it doesnt 'mean' very much in reality. Relative to SA, there's almost no real crime at all here.

I sleep with most windows wide open, there's no fences anywhere, no walls anywhere, no burglar bars over windows, you can park your car and leave it open and go shopping (and many people do this) - so a shoot first law doesnt mean too much in the big scheme of things.
Thats the difference between being in a peaceful society that's mostly working,

Otherwise known as the fascist state :o

:D

I wonder how many of those 19 are "blue" states? Like SA it seems the rights of the "poor" criminal are still held in high if not higher regard

Especially when you consider his beloved liberal utopia is responsible for more of it's citzens deaths than the fascist imperialist state :o

How on earth is that an ad hominem argument?

Remember that ad-hominem is attacking the person rather than the argument.

In this case the 'person' is the US.

An example of an ad-hominem attack is: "you should disregard his viewpoint because he is racist"

Whether the person is racist or not is immaterial to the argument, you still have to argue his points, whether or not they are racist.

Here, Tibby is attacking the country, rather than the argument about whether the law is good or not.

By attacking the country, rather than the person, Tibby is engaging in an ad-hominem argument.

Quite simple really :)

A broad view I suppose. A true ad hominem attack would have been against rph72. I think there is another name for what you describe - can't remember it at the mo.

Some may argue it is a bit to harsh but i ask, what was he doing there? Yeah it may be harsh but people will get the idea i think. Dont go into a place you dont belong. You cant just walk into someones house uninvited!!! We need this here, cause in SA they can walk in, shoot you and tak your stuff and stil get away! This is one thing the Americans do right i think

*all above is personal opinion

No tibby, we should not follow or learn from the first world, we should look at Africa for leadership as that is the only type our country can understand and contemplate with. The safety and security in the first world in far beyond what Africa and South Africa needs as else then we would not be able to be so corrupt, warmongering, racist and crime ridden. So yeah your point makes sense to the typical African.

That's a laugh.

Yeah, I even feel noxious about it, The level of crime and violent is akin to war as in the rest of the African continent. So laugh! just prey it's not your turn of bad luck today and miss the oppurtunity to become a victim and if you laugh at corruption maybe its time to check the mirror as even today there was more corruption unveiled in the government!
