My fiancee and I are going to US for two weeks.

We will be in San Francisco for 2 nights and then 5 nights in Sebastopol which is an Hour north of SF. I know this area is wine country. We will have a hired car. I would like to know if there are any really cool sight seeing to do in this area. I have been to SF before but that was 15 years ago. I can't really remember it.

We will of course do the Golden Gate bridge and pier 39. What else is cool? Also there is Monterey and 17 mile drive.

After Sebastopol we go to NY for 3 nights. There I think we sorted, got the Empire state building , Statue of Liberty, central park and 5th avenue and new world trade center? Am I missing something?

Then 2 nights in cleveland. Rock and roll Hall of fame is here. What else?

Then we road trip from cleveland to Niagara Falls. We stay 2 nights there too. Anything cool to do in Buffalo?

Also what is the best way to get from airport to town? We will need to do this in NY and Cleveland.

Also within town, is the sub-way better/cheaper than taxis? And public transport?

Drive up the Northern CA coast to the Redwood forest. The drive and the forest is breath taking! The two nights you are in SF leave the car because parking is both costly and hard to find. Rather walk or take public transport which is fantastic, cheap and very timely. I always loved the Haight/Ashbury district. They have the coolest shops. The Mission district has some very cool restaurants but take care there, it can get a bit rough in some sections of that district. Pier 39 is very much for tourists and from what I understand very costly. I so love and miss SF, it is one of my favorite cities.

Thanks for the info. I must I remember using the public transport and it was good. Which redwood forest are you referring to?

I am referring to the Muir Woods

http://www.nps.gov/muwo/index.htm

There are redwoods all over in Northern CA but Muir Woods is the best place to see the giant ones. Plus the drive up there from SF is amazing.

Sorry, had to look through my photos and do a map search. North of SF (3 hours drive) is the Redwood National forest. That is where you get the giants and the amazing drive. Muir has some big ones but the drive is not as stunning. Still very much worth a visit if you can't make it to the redwood national forest.

Fiancée and I are going to San Francisco and New York 13-21 June. We just booked our flights today. We have no idea what we'll be doing yet, but will let you know if we find some cool stuff
