US will continue spying on its people

So basically the Americans are getting a taste of their own medicine. The US already admit to spying on the rest of the world, so it's not exactly surprising, but sort of... "Poetic justice" in a way.

Obama said, “through vigorous public debate guided by our Constitution, with reverence for our history as a nation of laws, and with respect for the facts.”

Should read:

Obama said, “through vigorous disregard for our Constitution, with disdain for our history as a nation of laws, and with disrespect for the facts.”

Obama, relying on his unbelievable BS cult of personality, is able to get away with an unprecedented level of lies & deceit.

Obama has also asked for Congress to reform the privacy rules. Obama also voted against the patriot act...but dont let the truth balance your view.

They may be a nation of laws, but it is strange that they believe that means anything.

It is definitely not unprecedented. Yes, Obama is a lying spying freedom-hating scumbag. In that regard he has a lot in common with the governments and leaders of most developed countries, including his own predecessors.

Let's be 100% honest with ourselves. Obama is just a pawn, he has no real decision making power for the things that actually matter. He's just there for public appearance and to try to keep US citizens happy.

No matter what evil he does you just can't seem to accept he is a spineless politician same as everyone else.
Blind you are.
Obama really did a number on most people.
The liberals thought he was the Messiah. Lol :d

and this woman says it as it is.

“I do not respect an oath breaker,” she said. “Anybody who is holding a public office has taken an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. That does not mean you put how you ‘feel’ feel first… how you emotionally react to a tragedy first.”

“Because you think it’s better that I will be safer,” she continued, “you abrogate my constitutional rights. That’s breaking your oath and I have no respect for that.”

“I’m a mom and there’s only one thing that I’m afraid of and that’s the people in elected office taking away my rights,” she said.

Craig continued on this point. “I’m not afraid of the crook that’s going to come to my door because if my dogs don’t get him, I will. It’s my job to defend myself.”

“It’s not your job to protect me,” she told elected officials. “It’s not your job to defend me. It’s your job to protect the Constitution and protect my rights to defend myself.”

Um right... Until a car bomb goes off in her neighbourhood. Does she even remember the sentiments surrounding 9/11? People very nearly wet their panties screaming about how the system could not identify the threat beforehand. So yeah... To me this is much like the crap surrounding deep sea oil extraction - People will sit in their SUVs complaining about incidents like the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

I put it down to an inability to see the big picture and too great a love of flapping their jaws. I'm not saying they are stupid, but they tend to have the inability to connect ideas in a way that makes coherent sense.

I do not like this type of thing, but there's many things I do not like: Mowing the lawn, going to work, picking up the dog ****, etc.., etc.

Yet I know I have to do these bloody things!

She doesn't sound very bright.

“It’s not your job to protect me,” she told elected officials. “It’s not your job to defend me. It’s your job to protect the Constitution and protect my rights to defend myself.”

Err, yes it is. That's why there's a constitutionally mandated army and police force.

Anyway, will be interesting to see how the Republicans approach this issue in the long run, seeing as they were the ones pushing the hardest for this draconian nonsense under Bush.
