The USA Powerball lottery is up to $1.3 Billion and the draw is on Wednesday

Have any of you bought a ticket and if so how?
 
I bought a couple via my cellphone off luckylottos.com last week.
 
Not sure if you can buy tickets from online sites, however its technically illegal to do so.
 
Lottostar dont sell tickets for the American lottery as far as I know.

Even though its illegal to buy the tickets, I am not sure what the implications are if you win and you do not bring the money into SA.

If you do win, you have a couple billion, lawyers aren't going to be a problem.
 
I prefer donating to charity directly.
in case my meaning is not clear, playing lotto type thing is not a worth it. a study suggests that in order to actually win decently on the lotto, you need to spend about two thirds of the total prize in tickets for yourself. and even then you are not even guaranteed to win the lotto.
seeing as there are 49!(pronounced shriek) possibilities. it is just not worth the effort to play it.

They scan the purchased ticket and send it to you.

They do charge $5 for a $2 ticket though...

It's fun to think what one will do with 900 million USD (USA taxes non residents 30% on winnings).

R100 more to buy 3 tickets on that site than the other sites
 
The odds were dropped from 1 in 172 mil to 1 in 292 mil in order to gain more billion dollar jackpots and increase ticket sales. It worked
 
I played via playhugelottos.com as well.

A friendly girl named Michelle phoned me to remind me to play recently.

She sounded hot so I bought some UK lottery tickets.
Very illogical reason.

They won't pay you if you win, but thanks anyway for helping to boost the jackpot for us UK residents :)

USA lottery isn't like South Africa. Proceeded goes back to the state

So it's a scam after all then? You can buy tickets and win, but you won't be claiming that jackpot since you are not a US citizen.
