USB 2.0 Audio Adapter Pro

It should, yes.

However, it seems quite expensive for what it is, there are much cheaper ones out there.

Why do you want another audio output on your laptop?

You can also get the Asus Xonar U3 adapter in SA for like R360 - eg. http://www.ikonicit.co.za/audio-components/external/asus-xonar-u3-audio-station-black.html
I have the U3 that I'm using with my Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop, but I'm setting it as the default audio output, so I'm never really using my onboard audio any more. The downside to the U3 is that its sampling rate is fixed at 48kHz, which isn't ideal for MP3's that are sampled at 44.1kHz - but I don't really hear the difference between that and my Xonar Essense STX with low quality MP3's in any case...

You can get USB 2 audio equipment from Deal Extreme for very cheap too.

I have sound only via hdmi on my microserver and I need to use headphones occasionally. So i bought this from dealextreme. I don't expect much, but will see how it goes.
